‘Madagascar Jr’ to open at Burt Wood School May 5
MIDDLEBORO — Madagascar is coming to Middleboro.
That’s “Madagascar Jr.,’’ a musical opening on May 5 at the Alley Theatre at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts.
The musical is based on the 2005 film “Madagascar,’’ where a group of sly penguins help a lion, hippo, zebra, and giraffe escape from a New York City zoo. The musical will be performed by local students ranging from elementary school to high school age.
The Burt Wood version of the production is directed by Stacy Dawson and choreographed by Marissa Miller, with set design by Richard Bois and Matthew Bruffee.
The performances take place at the Alley Theatre, 133 Center St.
Showtimes are 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5; 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 6; and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 7.
