Two festive performances at The Zeiterion bring generations together for an unforgettable celebration of music, laughter, and holiday cheer.
The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra (NBSO) invites audiences to feel the season come alive at its annual Holiday Pops concert on Sunday, December 20, at 3:30 PM and 7:00 PM. This year, Holiday Pops returns to the beautifully renovated Zeiterion, bringing this beloved holiday tradition back to its familiar home in downtown New Bedford.
Led by Music Director Yaniv Dinur, Holiday Pops brings together the musicians of the NBSO, the talented voices of The Showstoppers, and members of the Southeastern Massachusetts Youth Orchestra for a joyful celebration filled with holiday favorites, festive surprises, and music that captures the magic of the season.
A cherished holiday tradition for many South Coast families, Holiday Pops is an opportunity to gather with loved ones, reconnect with friends, and create lasting memories. From the sparkle of the beautifully renovated Zeiterion to the excitement of a live orchestra, the concert offers an experience that brings generations together through music.
Two Performances, Two Ways to Celebrate
Audiences can choose from two distinctly festive experiences.
The 3:30 PM performance is a lively, one-hour concert designed especially with families and younger listeners in mind. Packed with holiday music and excitement, the afternoon includes a special surprise and a gift for every child, making it a wonderful introduction to the joy of live orchestral music.
The 7:00 PM performance offers an extended celebration, giving audiences more time to enjoy the rich sounds of the orchestra, the festive voices of The Showstoppers, and the warmth and nostalgia of the season.
Both performances are presented without intermission, allowing the holiday spirit to flow uninterrupted from the first note to the last.
Sharing the Spirit of the Season
In keeping with the season of giving, the NBSO encourages concertgoers to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the United Way of Greater New Bedford. This holiday food drive offers audiences an opportunity to share the joy of the season with neighbors in need.
Whether Holiday Pops is a longstanding family tradition or a first-time experience, the NBSO promises an afternoon or evening filled with beautiful music, contagious energy, and the kind of holiday magic that stays with you long after the final note.
