Join the Friends of the Wareham Free Library for an Author Talk with Ted Reinstein-- this year's first program as part of a grant from the Wareham Cultural Council, a local agency that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. The Author Talk will take place on Thursday, March 30 at 7:00 pm at the Main Library. It is free and open to the public.
Many of you will recognize Ted Reinstein from "Chronicle" on WCVB-TV. He is also a well-known author who presents what he refers to as his own "Ted Talks" about a variety of topics including his books. At the Library, he will be talking about his latest book, Brooklyn: The Unsung Heroes Who Helped Break Baseball's Color Barrier.
This book tells the story, largely lost to history, about a small group of people who fought for years against racism in the national pastime before Jackie Robinson took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Mr. Reinstein's book will be available for purchase.
