LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Historical Commission will host its annual Memorial Day observance Monday, May 27.

The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. with remarks in front of the Veterans’ Memorial Stone at the fire station and town office building, 346 Bedford St. A wreath will be placed there.

The group will then walk up the sidewalk to World War I Memorial Dickran Diran Square where remarks, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a second wreath laying will take place.

The final three wreaths will be placed across the street at the Honor Roll and World War II Staples Shore Flag Pole. The 1856 Town House will be open for a veterans’ display and refreshments.

Earlier, a sixth wreath will have been placed at the William Hitchcock Memorial at the driveway entrance to Assawompset School.

In case of inclement weather, the program will take place at the National Register 1856 Historic Town House, Route 18 and Precinct Street.

Organizers invite veterans, service men and women, Boy and Girl Scouts, and the general public to attend.
