MIDDLEBORO -- Several Middleboro High School track athletes broke school records at the MIAA District Championships held May 31 at Bridgewater State University.
Kennedy Frawley set a new school record in the two-mile with a time of 11:36. This is the second record she has broken in recent weeks.
She also broke the school’s mile record by eight seconds at the Weston Twilight Meet on May 9 with a time of 5:21.
She combines natural talent and a strong work ethic, coach Thomas Smith said.
The girls 4x400 team set a school record of 4:11. The team members are Meghan Youngquist, Caroline Thibodeau, Ana Machado and Charlotte Pickering.
Lily Price and Kaitlyn Koss placed fourth and eighth respectively in the javelin.
Atley Phinney placed seventh in the boys’ 800. He is scheduled to attend Stonehill College on a track scholarship.
The girls finished 6-0 to win the South Shore League meet.
They continue to run strong. They have won the indoor league championship for nine straight years and the outdoor championships four out of the last five.
