Rotary Club members pitch in to help others during holiday season
MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro-Lakeville Rotary Club spent a recent Saturday fulfilling Christmas wish-lists for families in need.
A dozen members and friends of the club spent last Saturday at My Brother’s Keeper, an area nonprofit that provides food and furniture to people in need. They joined dozens of other volunteers in “shopping” throughout the buildings’ warehouse for gifts requested by families in need.
Using Christmas lists submitted by parents and caregivers, club members selected presents for children and adults alike, then wrapped each item for the families assigned to them.
“It was a meaningful opportunity to share our time, compassion, and goodwill in service to our community, and we cherished the camaraderie and laughter that filled the day,” wrote Kevin "Quack" Quackenbush, a longtime member of the club who volunteered.
