Lakeville EMS receives training in new equipment

LAKEVILLE -- Lakeville Fire Department EMS providers recently completed training on new video laryngoscopes received through a grant.
These advanced airway devices give paramedics a clear view of a patient’s airway during intubation, which is when a flexible tube is interested into the body.
This allows them to help secure an airway more quickly and safely during life-saving emergencies, Fire Chief Michael O’Brien said.
Southcoast Health donated the video laryngoscopes. “We remain extremely grateful for their continued investment in emergency medical services and the patients we serve,’’ O’Brien said.
